Fortune Gems 2 is the most played edition of the gem themed series and the one most players mean when they search the game by name. It keeps the original 3 reel engine and bolts a Lucky Wheel on top, with instant prizes up to 1,000x the bet. This review covers how it plays, what the math actually says, and where the sequel genuinely differs from the original.

How the Base Game Works

Three reels, five fixed paylines, gem and card symbols. Every winning spin is multiplied by the value in the center of the fourth reel, which shows 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x or 15x on each round. There are no free spins, no cascading reels and no bonus maps: the multiplier reel is the entire base game concept.

Paytable for three of a kind:

Symbol Payout
Golden Mask (Wild) 5x
Red Gem 4x
Blue Gem 3x
Green Gem 2.40x
A 2x
K 1.60x
Q 1x
J 0.40x

The golden mask is the wild and the top payer. Line payouts look small on purpose: the design pushes all of its weight onto the multiplier reel, so the real variance lives in which multiplier lands, not in which symbols line up.

The Lucky Wheel

When the Wheel symbol stops in the center of the fourth reel, the Lucky Wheel opens and awards an instant prize from 1x to 1,000x the bet. The segments are weighted: small prizes are common, the 1,000x segment is the rarest outcome in the game. This is the only bonus event Fortune Gems 2 has, and it is the reason the sequel exists.

The sequel is the original with a lottery ticket attached. The base game is unchanged, the Lucky Wheel is new.

Extra Bet: What It Actually Does

Extra Bet raises the stake by 50% and changes two things. First, it removes the 1x multiplier from the fourth reel, so every spin now multiplies by at least 2x. Second, it upgrades the Lucky Wheel prizes with an additional 1x to 15x multiplier on top of the segment value. The advertised max win of 10,000x is reachable only with Extra Bet on; the base game without it tops out at 375x.

Two things Extra Bet does not do: it does not change the RTP, which stays in the 94.38% to 97% range configured by the operator, and it is not a strategy. It is a variance purchase. You pay 50% more per spin for a better multiplier distribution and a bigger ceiling.

RTP and Volatility

The RTP range is the most important fact on this page. Fortune Gems 2 supports several RTP configurations and an operator chooses one: some platforms run it at 94.38%, others at 97%. The game does not show which configuration it is running, so two players on different sites play slightly different math on the same slot. Over a long session the difference is measurable, and there is no way to detect it from inside the game.

Volatility is low to medium. Wins land often, most of them are small, and the large outcomes are concentrated in the Lucky Wheel. Dry stretches exist but are shorter than in high volatility slots. This shape is why the game suits small, fixed budgets, and why chasing the 1,000x wheel segment with raised bets usually ends the session early.

If you want to feel the volatility before risking anything, the Fortune Gems 2 demo runs the full game on virtual credits.

Fortune Gems 2 vs the Original

Fortune Gems Fortune Gems 2
Multiplier reel 1x to 15x 1x to 15x
Bonus event none Lucky Wheel up to 1,000x
Extra Bet yes, improves multiplier odds yes, required for max win
Max win 375x 10,000x
Volatility low to medium low to medium

If you liked the original’s pace, the sequel plays the same with one rare large event on top. The newer releases push the ceiling further: Fortune Gems 3 adds symbol split multipliers and a 10,125x max win, and the 2025 editions Fortune Gems 500 and Fortune Gems 500x focus entirely on multipliers.

Safety Notes

Three facts protect you better than any tip. There is no official Fortune Gems 2 app: any apk file is counterfeit by definition, and modified casino files are a common malware delivery channel, see the download guide. No hack, mod or “unlimited money” file can work, because the game runs on the provider servers, see the hack and mod myth. And no strategy or “best time to play” changes the outcome, because every spin is independent, see strategies and myths.
